In March 2018, Infineon and SAIC announced the establishment of a joint venture to manufacture power modules for China's vibrant electric vehicle market. The joint venture company is named SAIC Infineon Automotive Power Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shanghai, and its production base is located in the Infineon Wuxi factory expansion project.

On April 16, 2020, Infineon announced that it had completed its acquisition of Cypress Semiconductors for a total value of 9 billion euros (RMB 69.3 billion), making Infineon one of the top ten semiconductor manufacturers in the world
On April 29, 2024, Infineon Technology has recently reached a partnership with automotive industry software provider Etec to integrate the Escrypt CycurHSM 3. x automotive security software stack into the AURIX TC4X Network Security Real Time Module (CSRM).
